All furoshiki measure 90 x 90 cm (35.5 x 35.5″) and are handprinted in Japan.

1. LINK x Lucinda Newton-Dunn

GREY / Winter 2012 / 100% Cotton Satin (soft, lighter weight cotton)

RED / Fall 2010 / 100% Cotton Satin (soft, lighter weight cotton)

Designer’s comment: “The design is based on the functional aspect of the furoshiki; the idea of wrapping and folding. At first glance it appears as a bold and abstract pattern but when seen as a whole, it becomes apparent that the stripes depict manipulated and tied fabric.”

2. LINK x Hennie Haworth

Fall 2010 / 100% Cotton Chirimen (Japanese crepe cloth, textured heavier weight)

Designer’s comment: “For my design, I took inspiration from the idea of wrapping a wide range of objects and the different folding techniques and shapes each one would create. I also wanted it to act like a visual shopping list, the pictures reminding you of things you need to buy, then wrap in the furoshiki and carry home.”
